Chocolate Factory Tours

The most common question we’ve gotten is, “Do you offer tours?” The answer is yes – but please understand that we offer a different kind of tour.

Instead of watching a video of the same process over and over, or hearing a long lecture about chocolate, our goal is to provide an interactive, dynamic experience. Currently the chocolate industry is extremely secretive about how confections are made. Charles Chocolates aims to “de-mystify the art of making chocolate” by providing a full view into our kitchen. By watching our chocolatiers make the chocolates from start to finish, visitors will gain a much deeper and richer understanding of how our chocolates are made. Much like the restaurant industry created a deeper understanding and appreciation for food when they began having open kitchens, Charles Chocolates offers an extremely special, intimate, and comprehensive view into our “open chocolate factory”. Every time you visit Charles Chocolates, you’ll likely see something different.

Starting Saturday August 4, 2007, we will offer a free guided factory tour of our production facility. You'll be able to watch as our chocolatiers are in full production in our kitchen, observe various chocolates being made, and learn about the production processes at Charles Chocolates. The tour will end with an interactive question and answer session. Tours will happen twice daily at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

While you won’t be able to walk through our production floor because we will be in full production, you will gain a much more comprehensive view of all the different processes that occur to make one piece of chocolate. We look forward to hosting you and answering your questions.

on a more fun note, i bled bled bled through my favorite new pants today. at work. during a meeting. thank god for my earthquake kit pants. and that our office is close to many stores to purchase pants at.

anyone know where to get fuzzy dice for the mirror, an antenna head, or other car decor? so far the best suggestion was Kragen auto store, and they have them but only in white & black and this is for my dad and she needs color!

My present recommend for last minuters - ukulele. $25 at the fifth string in berkeley, other music stores may have inexpensive ones as well. then you may want:
Jiminy Kokopo's Ukulele Sing and Strum Fun Book by Jerrold Connors
(for kids, which means it's got pretty cartoons & is just the right level for newbies.) written by someone i used to know, i liked it!

1. want halloween costume, few ideas & all the crap they sell is "sexy ________" for women's. ick. nothing wrong w/ sexy, but uber-slutty as the only option is boring.

They play this wed. in SF, and alas they are sold the fuck out! (note: i only found out about the show today at lunch, they were already sold out.) How are they sold out if the only people I've ever met who have heard of them are the person who introduced me and the person I introduced? What is this world coming to?

There was a ticket on craigslist, but it sold. I want a ticket. Or ten. I would wear slutty clothes and flirt with bouncers to get in, but I don't think that will work. They're playing at Slim's or something in SOMA.

If you have any connections, or friends, please help. :( That's a sad me without a ticket.

i'd love for it to be a space where folks can show up throughout the day, so they're not all at once and i can actually see folks. I'd also like it to be a spot where my economically diverse friends can afford, as i'm willing to sponsor some folks, but I've got a tight budget
thoughts so far:
* bar/anyplace where u can buy a drink or food: accomodates varying schedules & quantities of people?
* park - really varying activities & budgets, but then i have to organize & bring stuff :( & weather is an issue

I think I'm almost to the point of letting her go, my trunk. She's a cheap-ass thing that I've made beautiful with faux travel stickers. Her lock has no key. Her hinges have been replaced with ones my dad drilled in 13 years ago. She holds a chunk of weight, and is fine with being sat upon. This is not a quality trunk, but she's got sentimental value and I'd love for her to go to someone I know - anybody interested?

My grandma is dying. She's my dad's mom. i've got _____ feelings about this. I really haven't talked to her in like 8 years because she's not very nice to my dad since my dad came out as trans. I'm not going to see her or going to the funeral, but I'm not sure if i want to have contact with her before she goes, and what kind of contact i should have.

I didn't really have a lot of feelings about this until she invited my dad to see her - which is pretty huge as before she told my dad not to come, and not to come to her funeral unless my (female) dad dressed as a boy. So not cool. The best thing my grandma ever did was raise my awesome and amazing dad, who has been an awesome and amazing parent. I can't believe she doesn't know this about her own child, it's sad. hell, she's got another daughter and another son, so what does she care about what gender my dad is? She's still got at least one of each.

Okay, I don't actually like these things. I'm glad you do, and that you have communities here, but 1. I'm just low-tech
2. I don't like spending time on the computer
3. my wrist injuries make it painful to type and mouse

So I'm probably never going to read your journal. I'll rarely post to mine. But it has come to my attention that occasionally I want to let people know what's happening in my life without either telling all of them individually or emailing everyone, so here I am.
